Frugal Goal Changes

I started this page to blog about my journey to financial independence. Sometimes, life gets in the way of even the best of intentions. The eBay idea has fallen by the wayside as I got promoted at my full-time job. This promotion came with a schedule change which made sourcing for eBay impossible.

I have a spouse that makes frugality hard. I can barely get the bills paid on time, but here is what I have done to try to make that possible. I have my check going to multiple accounts. One account is to pay the bills and the amount that gets deposited should cover the basic bills with a bit of extra to save. The next account is the account that they have access to for groceries and other household expenses. The last account is an emergency account.

I have a prepaid cell phone through Straight Talk. I know there are a few cheaper services out there, but I have had Straight Talk since 2010. I had been paying monthly. I am thinking about changing to the 6-month plan which would save $25 over 6 months.

You might be thinking why change the way you pay t0 save $4.00 a month? The pennies you save can add up to dollars if you keep saving them.

Savings Goal

I have a goal to save $250,000 from eBay sales. This money will be used to buy property for my daughter and myself. The eBay account currently has 50 listings. I have sold 8 items this month and half of that was today. My total sales before fees and expenses has totaled $354.50. After expenses, I am left with $237.73. The bank account has $500.00 in it, so we have an ending total of $737.73.

I listed 24 items today. I started the day with 30 items. I sold 4 of those items leaving me a total of 50 items listed with a expected gross sales from those items of $520.21. I have a goal to try to list a minimum of 5 new items a day in hopes I get more sales. I have to list new items in order to beat the algorithm on eBay to try to keep on top of the searches.
